You loved Shimmer, and now we’re thrilled to bring you SIMMER, another beginning from the badgerkin you knew and loved.
Get your milkteeth ready because every month, SIMMER will bring you the earth and everything under, as we focus on our second passion: SIMMERING. Sure, some people cook with fiyah at their fireside, but we’re taking it down a notch, and focusing on the art of the simmer. You’ll wonder what the hell it means to be SIMMERY. We’re gonna show you.
In Issue #1, we’re exploring the strange horizons where GRUBS and BACON, and BURIED COW collide, because why not. Our recipes will be uncanny and liminal; of blood and brine there shall be no dialogue — that’s issue #4.
Whether you’re a glam-grandma or a shadow boy, we’ll discover what becomes of the third-hearted as we try new tastes such as grub banh mi with grub-sriracha mayo , coconut grubs, tempura grubs, and yes — grub stock, hearty enough to see you through the invisible stars.
“Only their shining beauty was left,” one reviewer said, a whisper in the weld, while another was so struck by Issue #1, they said, “Now we’ve lost.”
Next month, we take the long view. We’ll peek at the spirit tasting list for Ridley House, and tell you what to do when all the red apples have withered to grey. We’ll make tea from hare’s breath and look ahead at our grilling spectacular, where we’ll teach you how to make Allosaurus burgers. The seaweed and the wormhole will take us places you can’t even imagine.

It’s no nightmare! It’s just more of what you’ve come to love from the badgers. Even in this skin, you can appreciate it. If you join at our caretaker level, we’ll take you behind the scenes and into the badger sett, where it is rumored we keep the triumphant ward of the railroad and the sea. Do we? Only when you emerge as a dustbaby can you know the truth of a July story.
This is the half dark promise we make to you: you will want for nothing. In the rustle of pages, we will teach you the ways of SIMMER. You will understand what it means to be SIMMERING, be it in broth, water, or a drop of ink preserved in amber.
We hope you’ll be along for the journey.
